At first glance, this just seems silly. It's not that bleak is it?
I never really got into the Sopranos and I took a perverse pleasure that so many people seemed disappointed by the ending. I'm not slagging the show, I just never devoted the time to it.
The idea that a single decent narrative could kill off the "great American novel" as cited by Norman Mailer..well that has more to do with people still reading Norman Mailer.
