I don't mind that James Grainger missed the point of Jonathan Coe's new novel in the Toronto Star today, or to lament that any author may have the temerity to stretch their wings a bit, and in Coe's case, not just rewrite the Rotter's Club club over again.
But if you're going to make a bunch of wheezing generalizations around "middlebrow art" and "safe sentiments about art, tolerance and kindness", you should probably get the main characters name spelled correctly.
Dumbass.
