and a bit of a surprise here, but one I can damn sure live with. Vendela Vida over one of the heavies here, and I'm quite pleased. I've not read the Bolano, but Let the Northern Lights Erase Your Name was a beauty. In a strong field, it may not get much further, but still, a nice surprise.

Next up a big first novel vs. a well regarded graphic novel.
