After Jessa raved about it, I read Calvin Trillin's beautiful book, About Alice. She's right, crying afterward is pretty much automatic. I'm not sure I agree with her thoughts on "Alice" versus Joan Didion's book, but I've read very little Trillin, and nothing previous about Alice and she clearly has.
I'll add it to the list of things to remedy in '07.
