barring a surprise, that is.
The Final Round of The Tournament of Books comes down to this.
I've read both of the finalists and while Josh Ferris has a great future ahead of him, I just didn't feel it for Then We Came to the End. I've said I must have missed something, but the book dragged in spots and while the characters were distinct from one another and Ferris nails interoffice politics, the book felt a bit self-conscious. It's still better than anything Coupland ever wrote (I know, picking on him today), but no way Oscar Wao loses this.
Gary Shteyngart did a fine job refuting everything I just said.
I must have missed something.
Go Junot Diaz!
